My research interests cover a broad spectrum from wireless networking and sensing to mobile autonomous and embedded systems. I am passionate about designing theoretically-sound algorithms and solutions as well as translating them to practical real-world systems. I direct the MARGA (Mobile Advanced Research @ GAtech) research group. Prior to GT, I spent over a decade in research in the wireless and telecom industry.
Students: If you are a prospective Ph.D. candidate interested in joining my group, please check here. I work with both students from ECE and CS departments at GT.
Industry/Collaborative Engagements: I have always enjoyed the practical impact of research and have contributed to technology commercialization both in the industry, as well as through spin-outs on innovative infrastructure-free and sustainable wireless tracking technologies for first responders and supply chains respectively. Besides contributing to numerous patents, I have also participated in patent litigation cases as a technical expert on various wireless topics. For related engagements, please reach out at karthiks dot gatech at gmail dot com.
